Her mother and brother produced a home recording of Celine performing her very first song. Celine's brother was so moved by the performance that he mailed it to Rene Angelil, a name he got off one of the records they had at home.
After witnessing such an angelic performance, Renee Agelil promised to help Celine make a name for herself. He produced her first two albums, which happened to be French. By the age of 15, Celine was presented with the French gold record.
In order for Celine to move forward, with her career, she needed to undergo a makeover. During this time she attended school to learn English, in order to enter into the American Market. In 1988 Celine was on tour in Europe. During this time, her and Angelil fell in love, but feared the consequences of a relationship. Surprisingly, Celine's fans supported her and nothing but joy came from her relationship with Angelil.
At the age of 23 Celine was approached, by Disney, to perform the theme song for "Beauty and the Beast". The following year Celine was awarded with a Grammy and an Oscar for this performance. During this time, her second English album was also released.
Five years later, in 1997, Celine won two more Grammys; Album of the Year and Best Pop Album. This is the same year that she performed "My Heart Will Go On" for the soundtrack of "Titanic". This song, alone, shared - with the world - what a magical voice Celine truly has.
In 1999, Celine took a small break to nurse her husband back to health while he was being treated for cancer. In 2001, Celine and Angelil became the proud parents of a gorgeous son.
She is currently on tour, which will be ending at some point this year. This tour, known as "Taking Chances", has already hit the charts for one of the top grossing tours of 2008. - 16463
