Tips on Growing Herbs and Home Schooling

By Den M Smythe

Herbs are used to add flavor to meals, make soothing teas, fragrant sachets, potpourri, scented candles and oils. You can browse through http://kcbcc.org for posts on herbs, their use, how to grow them and how to look after them. There are blogs which tell you how to grow indoor herbs, natural herbs for diabetes, and natural herbs for depression, container herb techniques and others.

Herbs are small plants whose leaves give a delicate perfume and when added to food, enhance the flavor. If added to tea, they make tea tasty. Some herbs are used in candle making and scented oils as well. Herbs can be grown from ready made plants which are transplanted into your chosen area. Or they can be grown from seeds bought in the market. You have to decide whether you want the herbs to grow inside your house, or outdoors in your garden or on your patio.

Basic herbs that are normally grown are thyme, garlic, oregano, basil, dill and chives. Lavender, peppermint and chamomile are added to tea to make it delicious. There are a few herbs which are good for diabetic patients; some others are used as preventive for some diseases.

Some herbs can grow directly, you can purchase them and transplant into your garden. Others grow from their seeds and you can easily buy a packet of seeds. If you want to grow them as show pieces or as part of interior dcor or if you want their fragrance in your living room, you can keep them in a corner of your house. Herbs need good soil, proper drainage, enough space for them to grow and about six hours of sunlight. If sunlight is not possible you can use the special lamps which help plants to grow. If grown in the house, they enhance the dcor of the house and provide soothing atmosphere.

Many parents prefer home schooling for their children. Most areas have home schooling but in case your area does not have one, you can start one yourself. You can talk to parents of children and form a group. You can share the responsibilities or take on home schooling by rotation. You can start in a shed, or if the weather in your area is good, in a park, or you can also have it at home.

If there are no home schooling places in your area, you can talk to parents in your area and form a group of families with children who would prefer home schooling. You can have them in your house or an open place if the weather is good, you can hold home schooling by rotation with other parents.

You have to find out about home schooling socialization, home schooling rules and other things unless you want to land in jail. Home schooling laws are similar in most states but may vary slightly and you have to find out what they are. The main thing to realize is that these laws are created in order to help all children get a quality and well rounded education. You can also register as a private school and you can then experiment in the ways you prefer to educate your child.

Home schooling socialization is an important aspect. Children need to socialize and mix about. They need this for their all round growth into normal and proper human beings. You should take the children to other schools' programs, to exhibitions and the like so that they meet children of their age and socialize. Children enjoy these outings and they are good for them. - 16463
