Gain Muscle and Burn Fat With Testosterone

By Michael Pearson

Testosterone is essential in the muscle building process. Many things affect the production of testosterone. Experts at Harvard Medical School write "physical inactivity and poor diet promote obesity and create poor metabolic health that disrupt sensitive hormone systems that process carbohydrates, fats and proteins: and regulate signaling chemicals that build bone and muscle mass". Testosterone levels correspond to muscle growth. Larger muscles, strength, sex drive, endurance and body fat levels decreasing are attributed to higher testosterone levels. The "bad" cholesterol levels also drop with higher testosterone levels.

Testosterone therapy can be recommended by a physician. There are different types but I would want a second opinion prior to trying any of them.

Compound exercises and exercise in general help testosterone levels. Carrying excessive body fat decreases testosterone in the body. Doing exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench presss and pullups stimulate production of testosterone. Avoid overtraining and get plenty of sleep for optimal testosterone production.

Bodybuilders have long known the benefits of testosterone levels. Increased muscle size and subsequent strength, body fat levels decreasing, endurance and sex drive increase, libido stays constant and high, and a drop in "bad" cholesterol levels; Health and Fitness.

Your level of testosterone has a direct bearing on your ability to gain muscle mass. Testosterone therapy if prescribed by a medical doctor is for men with low testosterone levels. Testosterone decreases with age but when it reaches a level of concern therapy is suggested by doctors. While testosterone declines with age, there are sound practices to help with it's levels. Don't overtrain, stay positive, maintain a healthy bodyfat, lift weights and eat a healthy diet.

Using compound exercises in the gym, e.g. squats, deadlifts, bench press, lunges, dips, rows, pullups, leg presses and standing military presses. These all incorporate multiple muscle groups.

The stress on the muscles from these types of exercises will require the body to adapt to the stress by growing larger. This is what we are looking for when we overload our muscles and then rest them sufficiently.

Testosterone levels naturally decrease as we age so all the more reason to be aware of what we can do to keep levels as high as possible.

Your ability to manufacture testosterone decreases with age. You can help though by eating a good diet. Sleep eight hours a night and keep a positive, upbeat attitude.

Harvard Medical School experts say "physical inactivity and poor diet promote obesity and create poor metabolic health that disrupt sensitive hormone systems that process carbohydrates, fats and proteins: and regulate signaling chemicals that build bone and muscle mass". Testosterone is one of those sensitive systems. This leads me to believe you need to be active to maintain good testosterone levels.
