Many of my clients have seen the Firm's Wave Personal Gym and have asked me to review it. They know I have a similar piece of kit called the TBow and thought I would be the ideal person to advise them on the Wave. I was curious to see if the Wave was any good for the average at home exerciser.
The T-Bow and the wave are both curved to enable them to be used curved side up or down. If placed curved side down it's unstable and you can rock on it. If placed the other way you can stand on it and use it like a step. This way you can use it to step up and down (a normal step), enhance your stretching routine, with a cheap exercise band add many strength training exercises and by using only your body weight you can so exercises like press-ups, squats and lunges.
With the Wave turned the other way (curved side down) you can really challenge yourself. By rocking and walking on the Wave you can accelerate your fat burning potential. You can also Use it to Ride The Wave by rocking, walk your way fit by turning the wave sideways, Work and develop better core stability and buy a cheap exercise band to add more resistance
The Firm claim you can burn up to three times more fat by exercising on the Wave. I'm not sure about three times but you will get one of the most challenging cardio workouts you've ever experienced. If rocking to a fast beat, the Wave will have you breathless in less than 5 minutes if your not used to it.
The Wave will enable you to perform over 100 toning, strength building and body sculpting exercises all on a piece of kit that costs less than $100 and comes with four DVD's an exercise mat and a healthy eating guide. I have to say I was impressed with the Wave. It won't stack like the T-Bow but for most home users who only buy one this will not be a problem.
Many people like you will see this as another exercise gimmick. Let me assure you it's not. It will do exactly what the Firm claims. The only way it won't work for you will be if you don't use it. But then that would apply to any other piece of home exercise equipment as well. The Wave is small, easy to store, has no complicated controls and can be set up in seconds, you just stand on it!
