Using Aromatherapy for Cellulite Reduction

To get rid of cellulite one of the best things anyone can do is to eat healthy and exercise the areas that are affected by the condition. While many people get great results with this method sometimes more needs to be done.

When this is the case you should start investigating other treatments which directly target the skin and fat. These treatments could include body wraps, laser therapy, radio wave therapy and massage.

One of the most easy and popular treatments is cellulite massage. By massaging the skin and fat the aim is to make the skin smooth and the fat softer. Cellulite creams are typically used to aid fat loss. However, it is also helpful to use essential oils that have been known to remedy the causes of cellulite.

Using essential oils is based on aromatherapy. The idea is that the massaging targets the skin and fat via touch, while the essentials oils influences the cellulite through your sense of smell and by absorption through the skin. Oils that are good for cellulite include those that increase blood circulation, remove toxins, decrease fluid retention and aid fat loss.

Here are some oils that you could investigate further:

Juniper: an essential oil that is known increase circulation, assist the body in fat reduction and help to open up pores that have become blocked. One way to use this oil is to put some drops into olive oil and massage into the skin.

Rosemary: many aromatherapists and herbalists recommend this oil for a vast range of conditions. It is effect in boosting the metabolism and enhancing the circulation of blood through the skin and body. The improvement in circulation assists the body to remove toxins.

Lemongrass: is another oil which is known to enhance blood circulation for toxin removal. It also helps the body in removing fluid that has built up in the fat cells.

Grapefruit: a fantastic oil that is known to assist muscle fatigue, making the skin more firm and reducing fluid build up.

These are just some essential oils that you can use when massaging your problem areas to help remove the cellulite. There are others that also help cellulite reduction by increasing blood flow, reducing fluid build up and firming the skin. A herbalist or aromatherapist will be able to help you know more.
