Thanking Guests with Unique Wedding Favors

By Andrea M.

Party favors of all sorts have become a traditional part of every type of party a person can attend. Favors are usually small, inexpensive items that are given as special "Thank you" gifts for the guests. Some parties are more important than others. This makes the favors chosen more important when giving them out. A wedding is probably the most important party of all that a person can ever attend, so the favors chosen should say "Thank you" in a strong voice. Saying "Thank you" with unique wedding favors in one way to make this happen.

The number of possible choices of items to give as wedding favors is nearly infinite. A lot of beautiful items are sold by bridal boutiques and wedding supply websites that specialize in these types of items. Even so, despite the number of possibilities, people all over the country seem to give basically the same items as wedding favors. A wedding pen with the names of the couple and the date of the wedding inscribed on it is probably the most commonly given wedding favor.

Unique wedding favors are items that are not out of place at a wedding or as gifts, but by their nature, are items that people would not normally consider when shopping for wedding favors. Nobody would come to a wedding expecting to receive these items as Thank you gifts. A honey pot and wooden dipper that sits on a base with the caption, "Meant to bee" or an oil bottle with "LOVE" printed on its side in a box that says, "Olive You" are examples of unique wedding favors. These items are so out of the ordinary range of items people always see at weddings that they surprise people, yet have a theme to them that makes them appropriate gifts for the occasion.

Personalization is another way to make one's wedding favors unique enough to stand out from the crowd. Choosing one item and having the names of the bride and groom and their wedding date put on them by printing, engraving, or other available means. One personalization option that is often overlooked is using initials instead of full names. The most overlooked option is have the favors personalized to the intended recipients with their names or initials. This last a certain way to ensure that the favors one gives out are unique and guaranteed to be one of a kinds.

Unique wedding favors will form great keepsakes that people will look at in years to come and remember your wedding because nobody else ever gave that particular item as a wedding favor that they are aware of. These wonderful little reminders of the joy and happiness shared at the wedding also say "Thank you" to the guests at your wedding in a clear strong voice that ordinary "Thank you" cards sent out after the fact can not hope to touch. - 16463
