Reduce Excess Stomach Fat

By Jose Loni

Everybody strives to reduce excess stomach fat. Excess fat in the stomach area can be reduced by, controlling the amount of food we eat, increasing our exercise activity and decreasing our stress levels.

Our diet plays a major role in excess stomach fat. When we overeat, our bodies cannot consume the carbohydrates to be utilized as fuel. As a result, it converts the excess carbohydrates into fat and accumulates it in the stomach.

Monitoring the quality and quantity of our diet can keep our energy and blood sugar levels more stable. By eating 5-6 meals per day and decreasing the size of each meal, we are able to keep our energy stable.

Exercising is a key point in excess stomach fat. When we don't expend enough energy to burn the calories we consume, the excess fat will accumulate in the abdomen. Increasing our physical activity will allow our bodies to kick-start our metabolism, which results in burning the excess stomach fat.

By coordinating the two factors of increasing exercise activity and decreasing the amount of food we consume, our body not only burns the calories from the food we ate but also helps reduce the excess fat from our stomach.

Research has shown that people under increased stress, were prone to increased levels of stomach fat. The body has a way of storing the fat as it releases a hormone called Cortisol, which takes the fat and stores it in the stomach area.

When the stressful situation occurs, the body is placed in a survival mode and stores fat in the stomach area, so it can be used as fuel later. The body goes into a protective mode and stores the fat in case it is needed to fuel bodily functions.

The management of what we eat, how much we eat, the amount of exercise activity we do, and our stress levels, can effectively change our body and help us lose excess stomach fat. Stress reduction allows us to decrease the amount of Cortisol, which causes fat storage in the stomach area. By controlling these factors, we can make permanent and lasting changes to lose excess stomach fat. - 16463
