How To Match Suit Patterns

By Victor Santerino

Many men are adept at realizing that they should wear a shirt and a tie when they wear their suit. However, these same men are not adept at successfully matching these articles together.

Reading this article will make you one of the few men who successfully know how to match a wardrobe correctly. Follow the next few paragraphs below for more details on this practice.

The suit can be paired using combinations of the same patterns, combinations of different patterns, and the combination of various patterns working together. The next few paragraphs will provide tips on how to achieve these looks.

The same patterns can be matched together with all parts of the suit. However, this should always be done with patterns of differing sizes. For instance you could wear a pinstripe shirt with narrow stripe separation and a tie with broad sized stripes.

Different patterns can be matched in two different ways. The first way is to use different patterns of the same size to coordinate with each other. For instance a tie with small round check patterns could be matched with a shirt with small circular patterns.

The second way to match two different patterns is to take two completely different sized patterns of the same color and match them to each other. For instance wearing a tie with large light blue checks would match light blue pinstripe suit jacket.

Combining all different styles is not a out of the question, but it can be a bit perplexing in nature. An example of this type of style would be to wear a gray pinstripe suit with a wide gray circular patterned tie, and a white shirt with gray pinstripes.

Remember to always think of each piece of clothing as a smaller piece of your wardrobe and you will never go wrong. In closing I'd like to wish you luck with your next wardrobe purchase. - 16463
