How To Color Coordinate Your Suit

By Victor Santerino

I think we can all agree that there are times when a man should and must wear a suit. Unfortunately many men wear their suits carelessly and make no effort to color coordinate them.

I wrote this article to help out any man that has ever been confused on the subject of color coordination. This piece will tell you what to do and give you some easy examples to follow.

Colors can be paired together in like colors, different colors in similar shades, and to themselves. Use the examples given in the paragraphs to follow to give you a better idea of what this looks like.

Colors can be matched to themselves quite easily. However, make sure not to match colors to themselves in solid patterns that touch each other.

The same color can be matched up to its lighter or darker version. This can be demonstrated by wearing a navy blue suit jacket with a light blue button up shirt.

The color of an item can easily be matched to a different shade closely related to the original color. Try wearing a yellow shirt with a green tie to really set off an outfit and make it shine.

The preceding three ways of color coordinating can be mixed together to create a great synergistic outfit. For instance you could wear a dark blue suit with a light blue shirt and a white pocket square.

The combinations that can be created with these three types of color coordinating are endless and when combined with coordinating styles and patters can provide you with a killer look. As always thank you for reading my article. - 16463
