First Steps to Your Custom Murals

By Sam Smith

So you have finally decided to get your wall done with some custom murals from a muralist, and you want some fresh ideas of how to make your house stand out. So how should you decorate your house? There are so many things you can do?

First, you want to figure out how fancy you can get. That means, how many rooms can you afford to get painted. Once you've figured that out, you're next step is to figure out which rooms you will decide to decorate. Will it be just your living room where you entertain guests, or perhaps you would like to have your bedroom done as well? The last thing to do is figure out what style do you want to use.

Choosing the style is the most important part of your mural design project. Choosing a style is a very personal endeavor, and is an expression of who you are, and what you want to express to other people. You will be waking up to those pictures, your' children will see it every day, and all of your guests will see it as well. If you need some help, here are a couple of ideas.

1) Religious themes - Religious themes are very useful. Most religions have many fabled images that convey dramatic messages. You can use religious themes anywhere in your house, depending on the message.

2) Cultural themes - Cultural themes are also really great ideas. You probably have fond memories of specifc parts of a culture that meant alot to you as a child, and what better way to remember those memories than see it on the wall when you wake up?

3) Country Themes - If you love different imagery worldwide, the best way to remember it as you go about your daily life is having your murals painted to resemble the places you love the most.

4) Hobbies - If you have a specific hobby that you love, there is no better way to enjoy it than placing parts of your hobby on the wall as a background to however you decorate the rest of your house.

5) Scenery - It is well known that all of our senses interact with each other. If you enjoy the beauty of a sunset, the serenity of the ocean's waves, or the lush scenery of a rainforest, there's no better way to remember that experience every day than putting on the wall. You can take pictures from past trips, or simply have the muralist find the images that appeal to you the most. - 16463
