Mistakes to Avoid if You Want to Get Rid of Your Acne

By Marcel Stephenson

There is nothing nice about acne, millions are struggling with it daily, and the number is increasing. But, if you are making these mistakes when treating your acne, you are actually worsening it, and your might have acne for a long time ahead.

1. Squeezing the Pimples

Squeezing is OUT. The yellow spot in the middle is puss that needs to come out. When you squeeze a pimple you might be shoving it back into the pore instead. So instead of making it better, you are worsening the infected area, and are spreading the bacteria, which aggravates the problem.

2. Scrubbing Acne Infected Areas

The area that is affected by acne must not be scrubbed. It will only end up oozing, with open sores. This will take longer to heal and is prone to get infected.

The more you scrub, the worse it will get. Use a mild treatment instead. A non-allergic, mild soap is the best option. If you really want to make sure the area is kept clean, you can use the soap with a soft cloth, three times a day. This will prevent the area form becoming re-infected.

3. Stop using Make-up

You have to stop using make-up for a while, because it clogs your pores, these areas need to breathe to heal.

4. Medication

Use over the counter medication with caution as they could be too harsh for your skin and cause irritation. Don't overdo the medication because it can make the condition worse.

To sum this up, seeing a dermatologist is probably for the best if you are suffering from very severe acne. Be careful with what creams and ointments you are using, if they are harsh they will make your acne worse. And never, ever squeeze your pimples, it will scar you. Choose treatments and products according to your skin type for best results. - 16463
